Join our dynamic team as a Cost Accountant in Monroe, where you will play a pivotal role in providing cost accounting and financial support across our manufacturing and distribution facilities. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage month-end journal entries and accruals related to manufacturing and distribution.
- Develop and monitor periodic metrics and KPIs to evaluate plant performance.
- Conduct cost analysis for new and existing products, including annual standard revaluation.
- Ensure accurate cost management for raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
- Collaborate with engineering and materials teams to update BOMs and routings for both manufactured and imported products.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Ensure accurate reflection of plant activities in monthly financial statements.
- Analyze cycle count variances and conduct warehouse audits to track quarterly results.
- Manage and analyze the physical inventory process.
- Perform quarterly reconciliations between perpetual and general ledger accounts.
- Conduct variance analysis for material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Comply with all safety regulations and utilize appropriate safety equipment.
- Review production order variances and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of two years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools; experience with MAPICS/Infor/AS400 or Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills to understand and communicate complex information effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Effective oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Capability to work in environments requiring personal protective equipment.
