Our client, a growing Houston area law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their Houston office. This role supports a busy commercial litigation practice handling large, complex matters. The ideal candidate is a seasoned paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable working with significant document productions, and takes ownership of their responsibilities from pre-suit through trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of discovery, including preparing discovery responses and managing document productions
- Work with eDiscovery platforms to organize, review, and produce documents in large-scale litigation
- Maintain and monitor case deadlines and docket entries across an active commercial litigation docket
- Coordinate extensively with testifying and consulting experts, including scheduling, document exchange, and logistics
- Support trial preparation and attend and assist at trial as needed
- Communicate professionally with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel on case-related matters
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience required; commercial litigation experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
- Proficient with local, state, and federal court filing rules and procedures
- Hands-on experience with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Disco, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with document management systems; familiarity with iManage a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities under pressure
- Professional, client-service focused attitude
