Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Travel Medical Technologist (MT) for a 13-week night-shift contract in Cumming, Georgia.
The selected candidate will perform clinical laboratory testing and specimen analysis, with a strong emphasis on blood bank and chemistry testing and some microbiology responsibilities.
Important: The facility will consider only Medical Technologists and Medical Laboratory Scientists. Medical Laboratory Technicians will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Perform clinical laboratory testing and specimen analysis accurately and efficiently.
Conduct blood bank and chemistry testing.
Perform limited microbiology testing as assigned.
Process and analyze specimens according to laboratory procedures.
Maintain accurate test results and laboratory documentation.
Follow quality control, safety, and infection prevention procedures.
Identify and report testing discrepancies or abnormal results according to protocols.
Support timely laboratory services for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Work assigned night shifts and required holidays.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience within the clinical laboratory specialty
Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) qualification
At least one applicable certification required: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, or HHS, as listed in the facility requirements
Strong blood bank experience
Strong chemistry experience
Limited microbiology experience
Ability to work night shifts and required holidays
Travel assignment eligibility
Preferred: Experience in a clinical laboratory setting involving specimen testing and analysis.
Holiday Requirements
Northside requires travelers to work:
Two of these three major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
One of these three minor holidays: The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve.
Candidates must be available to meet these holiday requirements.
