Candidate Source is hiring a
Warehouse Associate for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a wholesale distributor of fire protection supplies in Richmond, VA. In this hands-on role, you'll receive shipments, manage inventory, pick and pack customer orders, and keep the warehouse running smoothly. The permanent schedule is Monday through Thursday, so you get
3-day weekends, every weekend.Shift/Hours- Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 2:30pm-1:00am (4-day work week, Fridays off)
- Training: 4-6 weeks on 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm) before moving to your permanent schedule
- Temp-to-hire, full-time, overtime eligible
- Pay: $18-$20/hr depending on experience
Job Duties- Receive, count and verify incoming vendor shipments and customer returns
- Note and handle shipping discrepancies such as overages, shortages and damaged freight
- Pick, pack and audit customer orders using RF scanners or pick tickets
- Identify damaged, special-order and non-stock material and store it in the right locations
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Complete shipping documentation for third-party carrier shipments
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized and safe
Job Requirements- 1+ year of warehouse receiving and material handling experience
- Must be able to work Monday-Thursday, 2:30pm-1:00am after training
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Able to frequently lift up to 100 lbs in a warehouse with limited climate control
- Forklift experience preferred
- Experience with fire protection, plumbing or pipe/valve/fitting products is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills, including fractions and decimals
- Comfortable learning warehouse computer systems and RF scanners
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English
