PRODUCTION SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Production Specialist Large Format Printing & Sign Manufacturing
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Manager

Position Summary
Raintree Graphics is seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Production Specialist to join our sign
manufacturing team. This position plays an essential role in the daily production of high-quality graphics, signage, and
custom-fabricated products.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work
efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. This individual must be comfortable operating production equipment,
following job specifications, maintaining quality standards, and assisting with all aspects of the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
1. Large Format Printing & Print Production
Operate and assist with large-format digital printers, including roll-to-roll and flatbed printing equipment.
Prepare, load, and properly handle various printing materials, including vinyl, banners, adhesive films, wallcoverings, and
rigid substrates.
Monitor printing equipment throughout production to ensure accurate colors, proper alignment, consistent print quality,
and material performance.
Inspect printed graphics for banding, streaking, color inconsistencies, registration issues, head strikes, and other
imperfections.
Follow production specifications, work orders, and approved artwork to ensure accuracy.
Assist with printer setup, material calibration, and routine production adjustments.
Minimize material waste, printing errors, and unnecessary reprints.
2. CNC Routing & Material Fabrication
Operate or assist with CNC routing equipment used for cutting and manufacturing signage.
Prepare materials for routing, including PVC, acrylic, aluminum composite panels, Coroplast, foam board, and other sign
substrates.
Ensure proper material placement, securement, and cutting accuracy.
Inspect routed materials for dimensional accuracy, clean edges, and overall quality.
Perform basic finishing, trimming, sanding, cleaning, and preparation of fabricated components.
Maintain a clean and organized routing and fabrication area.

3. Finishing & Installation Preparation
Assist with laminating, trimming, cutting, masking, mounting, and preparing graphics for installation.
Weed and apply transfer tape to vinyl graphics and lettering.
Prepare wall graphics, window graphics, dimensional signage, banners, and other finished products.
Accurately label, organize, and stage completed graphics according to job numbers and installation locations.
Review installation instructions, drawings, and production layouts to ensure materials are complete.
Assemble installation kits containing necessary graphics, hardware, templates, and other required components.
Coordinate with the Production Manager and installation team to ensure materials are ready by scheduled deadlines.
4. Packaging, Shipping & Job Organization
Properly package completed signage and graphics to prevent damage during handling, transportation, and shipping.
Verify quantities, dimensions, labeling, and job information before packaging.
Prepare shipping labels and organize outgoing shipments.
Assist with receiving incoming materials and inspecting deliveries for accuracy and damage.
Maintain organized storage areas for completed jobs, materials, and production supplies.
Ensure installation orders and customer shipments are complete before leaving the facility.
5. Equipment Maintenance & Shop Organization
Perform routine daily and weekly maintenance on printing, routing, laminating, and finishing equipment.
Assist with printhead cleaning, nozzle checks, material path inspections, lubrication, and other
manufacturer-recommended maintenance procedures.
Identify equipment problems and report concerns promptly to management.
Keep machines, workstations, tools, and production areas clean and properly maintained.
Monitor production supplies and notify management when materials, inks, tools, or other consumables need to be
reordered.
Follow equipment operating procedures and established safety protocols.
Take responsibility for maintaining equipment in good working condition and reducing unnecessary downtime.
6. Quality Control & Attention to Detail
Carefully inspect all products throughout the production process and before final packaging.
Verify measurements, artwork orientation, color consistency, material selection, and finishing requirements.
Identify potential production errors before they become costly mistakes.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail when monitoring printers and other production equipment.
Ensure graphics are free from scratches, bubbles, wrinkles, contamination, and visible printing defects.
Communicate any discrepancies, damaged materials, or quality concerns immediately.
Take pride in producing accurate, clean, professional-quality signage.
7. Teamwork & Production Efficiency
Work closely with the Production Manager, design department, project managers, and installation team.

Follow daily production schedules and prioritize projects based on deadlines.
Communicate production progress, delays, and potential issues.
Assist team members in other production areas as needed.
Maintain accurate job tracking and update production statuses when required.
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn new equipment, materials, and production processes.
Help maintain a positive, professional, and productive work environment.
Required Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to read and understand work orders, measurements, and production specifications.
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn production software.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a sign shop, print production facility, or manufacturing environment.
Experience operating large-format digital printers, CNC routers, laminators, or vinyl plotters.
Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, print RIP software, or related production programs.
Understanding of vinyl applications, rigid substrates, wall graphics, and dimensional signage.
Experience with packaging, shipping, and installation preparation.
Basic knowledge of printer maintenance and troubleshooting.
Prior sign industry experience is preferred but not required for candidates who demonstrate mechanical aptitude, reliability,
and a willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment when needed.
Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive production tasks.
Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and handling large-format materials.
Ability to use hand tools and production equipment safely.
