RVN Inc. is hiring an Instrumentation Engineer for a full-time opportunity with a global EPC engineering client in Houston, Texas.
We need 6 10 years of relevant experience with hands-on EPC instrumentation design. The core work is instrument indexes, instrument specifications and datasheets. An automation/programming-only background does not meet this requirement.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain instrument indexes/lists from P&IDs, including tag numbers, service information and revisions.
Prepare specifications and datasheets for flow, level, pressure and temperature instruments, control valves, on/off valves and analyzers.
Support instrumentation/control philosophies and cause-and-effect matrices.
Coordinate instrument locations with designers, considering access, maintenance and installation requirements.
Review vendor documents and close technical queries.
Coordinate with process, electrical and piping teams from FEED through detailed engineering.
Requirements
6 10 years of relevant experience, including EPC instrumentation engineering/design deliverables.
Hands-on instrument index and instrument specification development.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, PFDs and control narratives.
Diploma or engineering degree in Instrumentation, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electrical or a related discipline.
Strong EPC company experience and willingness to work from the stated office are required. Current recruitment eligibility: US citizens, Canadian citizens or US green-card holders. Any employer documentation required for US employment must be clarified before submission.
Oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, chemical or power project experience is relevant. SmartPlant Instrumentation/INtools, AVEVA Instrumentation, AutoCAD and ISA/IEC knowledge are useful. Power experience is preferred.
