Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Sign Installation Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for the professional installation, removal, maintenance, and repair of various types of interior and exterior signage.
The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial sign installation, vinyl graphics, wall coverings, dimensional lettering, and architectural signage. This individual must be able to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Sign Installation & Production
Install interior and exterior commercial signage according to approved drawings, measurements, and specifications.
Install vinyl graphics, wall murals, window graphics, and vehicle lettering.
Install dimensional letters, acrylic panels, ADA signage, wayfinding signs, and architectural signage.
Perform removal and replacement of existing signage and graphics.
Properly measure, align, level, and secure signage to various surfaces.
Read and interpret installation drawings, site surveys, and work orders.
Identify potential installation challenges and communicate solutions before proceeding.
Perform quality inspections to ensure installations meet company standards.
Equipment & Technical Skills
Safely operate ladders, power tools, drills, and installation equipment.
Operate scissor lifts and boom lifts when properly trained and authorized.
Understand appropriate mounting methods, adhesives, fasteners, and installation materials.
Maintain installation tools, vehicles, and equipment.
Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and protecting signage materials.
Project Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with the Production Manager to confirm installation schedules and project requirements.
Review job packets before arriving on-site.
Communicate project delays, missing materials, site conditions, or installation concerns promptly.
Maintain professional communication with customers and on-site representatives.
Document completed installations with clear, professional photographs.
Submit accurate installation reports and completion documentation.
Notify management immediately of any damage, errors, or required return visits.
Safety & Quality Control
Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Inspect materials before installation to identify defects or damage.
Ensure finished installations are secure, level, clean, and professionally presented.
Follow manufacturer specifications for adhesives, mounting hardware, and installation methods.
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience in sign installation, construction, graphics installation, or a related trade preferred.
Knowledge of commercial signage materials, including acrylic, aluminum composite panels, PVC, vinyl, and dimensional lettering.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and levels.
Ability to read basic drawings and installation instructions.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and heavier materials with assistance or appropriate equipment.
Comfortable working on ladders and elevated platforms with proper training.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of commercial sign installation experience.
Experience with large-format vinyl and wall graphic installations.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Aerial lift and scissor lift training.
Experience with corporate, retail, healthcare, and commercial signage projects.
Experience performing site surveys and installation measurements.
